Policies and Procedures

Thank you for becoming familiar with the information regarding policy and procedure at Shadow Valley Tennis Club.  This information is provided for the benefit and safety of all members and their guests while participating in activities at either facility.  If you have questions concerning the policies please direct them to any of our staff members.  Above all, enjoy your time at Shadow Valley.

Check- In/ Court Policy
 

All members and guests must register at the front desk prior to using the courts or fitness center.  If checking in for tennis, the front desk staff will assign you a court.  Walk- on court time is limited to one hour for singles, one and a half hours for doubles.  If the courts are not in need by other members or a club activity, members are welcome to play longer.  Gold members have unlimited walk-on privileges, year round, at both facilities, indoor and outdoor tennis.  Any reserved court time is subject to standard court rates.  Any non- Gold members must pay for their share of court time.

Guest Policy
 

There is no limit to the number of guests a member may bring to the club.  However, a guest may only utilize the club 3 times within a 12 month period.  Guests must register at the front desk when they arrive, providing their name, address, and phone number.  Members are responsible for any unpaid fees incurred by their guest.  Guest fees are $5 for fitness and tennis, with additional court fees for tennis guests.  The $5 guest fee will be waived for an out-of-town guest that lives 50 miles or more from either facility.

Attire
 

Proper tennis or fitness attire is required.  Street clothes and black soled non- court shoes are not permitted on the tennis courts.  Shirts and shoes are required at all times in the lobby, fitness area, and courts.

Towel Service
 

Towels are available for purchase at either location for $2.  You may keep the towel once purchased.

Locker Rental
 

Lockers are available for rental to members on a yearly basis.  To reserve a locker, please see any of the desk staff or managers.  Locks are provided at the Central location, but not at the Maumee location- members must bring their own lock.  Members are billed in September each year for their locker fee.  Members and guests are welcome to use a locker for their belongings at each visit, but must remove the items and lock at the end of each visit.

Private Parties
 

Both facilities are available for private tennis parties.  Courts and pros may be booked based on availability. Please contact the manager at either location for further questions or court rental.

Liquor Policy
 

Shadow Valley Maumee has a strong liquor policy that prohibits outside alcohol from being brought onto the premises.  Shadow Valley and the Deuce Social Lounge have a state liquor license.  It is a violation of the Ohio law to bring alcohol onto a site that has a liquor license.  Persons not in compliance with this policy may be asked to leave, or have membership privileges suspended.  Shadow Valley Central does NOT have a liqour license, in which members or guests may bring outside alcohol onto the premises.

Dues and Fees
 

All membership fees are subject to current Ohio sales tax and are billed the first of each month for the current month.  Membership fees are non- refundable.  All memberships will continue to roll over until the business office receives written notification of a cancellation.  Written notification must be received by the end of the month prior to which you would like the cancellation to go into effect.  The member is responsible for full payment of any and all outstanding fees owed to the club through that date.  Memberships may be frozen for up to a year due to injury, illness, or travel.  There is a three month minimum for approval of a freeze. Members may freeze their memberships only once per year.  Shadow Valley reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for inappropriate behavior or delinquent accounts.

Payment
 

Shadow Valley accepts cash, check, MasterCard, and Visa as forms of payment.  House accounts are available to all members.  However, all new members must provide EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) information for monthly billing.  All membership dues and charges placed on the house account will automatically be withdrawn from the EFT account on the 10th of the month.  All non- members are required to pay for all activities before hand through the front desk.

Cancellation Policy
 

All cancellations must be made at least 12 hours prior to the scheduled program.  Participants not giving sufficient notice may be subject to billing for that event.  Private lessons not cancelled with enough notice will be left to the pro's discretion for charging.

Injury, Theft, and Damage
 

Shadow Valley and Shadow Valley at Central are not responsible for injury, lost or stolen property, or damage to personal property.
